Lyon will hope to continue with their big escape from Ligue 1’s lower reaches when they travel to Nantes on Sunday. Nantes, on 28 points, are two above the relegation playoff zone while Lyon are a further seven points ahead of their hosts. Recent improvement has seen Nantes rise from the relegation zone and a win here can be a big boost to their survival push. They had a big win in their last game, seeing off Nice 2-1 away from home. With that win, they are unbeaten in their last four matches, that being their third win in that period. Lyon have scored more than once in three of those four matches. A shock 3-0 loss to Lens is their only defeat in the last 11 matches, eight of which they won. Another angle to their recent rise is that they’ve been doing well away from home. In the last five away matches in all competitions, Lyon have posted wins. They lost just once in the last seven away matches. One of their 10 league wins this season came in the reverse fixture with Nantes, that ending 1-0 in December.
