Nacional Asuncion will host the second leg of their Copa Libertadores first-round qualifier with Sport Huancayo at the Estadio Defensores del Chaco on Wednesday. They will be looking to overturn the first-leg 2-1 loss in Huancayo a week ago. In the first match, Huancayo scored the winner deep inside stoppage time through substitute Ronal Huaccha. Feliciano Brizuela scored Nacional’s equaliser after Carlos Escobar had opened the scoring in an eventful second half. Nacional have played three matches to start the season and have won two with the game against Nacional their only loss. They are third in the Paraguayan first division with six points. The hosts have scored in all three of their matches (six goals) across all competitions but have kept only one clean sheet. Nacional go into the match after a 1-0 away win over General Caballero. Sport Huancayo have not played domestically so far in the season with the game against Nacional being their first of the new campaign. This allowed them more time to prepare for Nacional’s visit and they did not disappoint as they won their first match in tournament history. They could be without Carlos Escobar for the return tie after the veteran forward was withdrawn in the first leg match with an injury. A goalless draw on Wednesday will send them through to the next round. The winner of this tie will proceed to the second round where Peru’s Sporting Cristal awaits.
