Mozambique vs Guinea-Bissau Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau are set to face off in their second match of Africa Cup of Nations qualifying on Tuesday afternoon at Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto in Maputo. The Mambas are currently in second place in Group I of this competition, while The African Wild Dogs lead the group standings after matchday one. Let’s get into the match prediction.

Mozambique almost pulled off a major upset in their opening match of qualifying, as they took an early lead against Mali but were pegged back in the second half via a Yves Bissouma strike just before the hour mark. 

With that result, the Mambas have now avoided defeat in regulation time in each of their last nine matches, including six draws and three wins, dating back to a defeat to Cape Verde at the AFCON earlier this year. 

At home, Mozambique have won their last two matches, beating Somalia and Lesotho, while the last two matches between themselves and Guinea-Bissau have ended level. 

Meanwhile, Guinea-Bissau got off to a positive start to their qualifiers, edging Eswatini to a 1-0 victory courtesy of a Bura Nogueira strike early in the first half. 

The African Wild Dogs are now unbeaten in their last three matches, following back-to-back draws against Ethiopia (0-0) and Egypt (1-1) in World Cup qualifying back in June. 

However, the visitors lost all three of their AFCON matches in the Ivory Coast earlier this year and also lost their last two away games, beaten by Sudan 1-0 in March and Mali at the start of January.
