Morocco vs Namibia Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

It was back in 1976 that Morocco won the African Cup of Nations for the only time in their history. They were runners-up in 2004 and reached the quarter finals of the last tournament losing to Egypt. Last year saw them qualify for the finals of the World Cup for the first time in 20 years but lost out at the group stage but only lost to Portugal 1-0 and drew 2-2 with Spain. They had few problems qualifying for these finals finishing ahead of Cameroon in Group B. Form coming into this tournament hasn't been impressive with no wins in their last four games. They drew with Malawi but have lost their last three matches. That includes a 1-0 loss to Argentina to a goal seven minutes from time and a 1-0 defeat by Gambia who are ranked 161st in the world. Their final warm-up game saw them lose 3-2 to world number 81 Gambia.

Namibia are ranked 76 places below Morocco and qualified for this tournament by finishing second in Group K. They won two, drew two and lost two of their games including a 4-1 away defeat in Zambia. Namibia only scored five goals in their six games and conceded seven. Two of their three away games were lost with the vital win being in Mozambique. Namibia's recent matches have been in the COSAFA Cup where they finished second in their group behind Malawi. They beat the Seychelles but they are only just ranked inside the top 200. Their record against Morocco is a poor one with five losses and a draw with two goals scored and 14 conceded. Morocco aren't in great form but should be able to get a win from this opening fixture but face tougher games against South Africa and Ivory Coast later in this group.
