CF Montreal vs New England Revolution Prediction & Betting Tips - Major League Soccer

The Major League Soccer kicks off this weekend with high hopes as teams open their campaigns; among the matches lined up, Montreal Impact will be at home against New England Revolution. Playing in the Eastern Conference of the Major League Soccer, the two sides had really poor runs in the season in 2019 and they will start this new campaign with better hope. Montreal conceded a massive 60 goals as they went on to finish ninth in the 12 team Eastern Conference with 41 points. They scored 47 and thus finished with a -13 goal difference. There has been a lot of changes at the team in preseason, among the new arrivals being France legend Thierry Henry who will be looking to inspire the club to greater heights. Henry returns to the MLS as manager, having served as player at New York Red Bulls but Montreal will be hoping he has a better performance than his showing at Monaco in Ligue 1 earlier.

Former Barcelona, Milan, Roma and Ajax forward Bojan Krkic is among the players expected to provide leadership and after scoring thrice last season, he will also be hoping to have a better impact. Montreal Impact have not had the best preseason as well; they played to a 2-2 draw with Deportivo Saprissa in the first leg of their last sixteen tie in the CONCACAF Champions League in their last match, despite taking a 2-0 lead in that game.and Henry will be keen to address this. Of their last five matches, they have no clean sheet and no win while they have failed to score in three of the five as well. Montreal won just 12 of their league matches last season, and of their last five league matches at home, they won just two and 10 of their total 17 at home. They have the second leg of that CONCACAF Champions League tie to play before this MLS match.

New England, on the other hand, go to this game on the back of a preseason win over Portland Timbers and just like Montreal Impact, will hope for a better season than in 2019. In the past season, they conceded 57 goals, and scored 50. They finished the campaign in sixth place and were eliminated from the playoffs in the first round. New England have two wins in the last five preseason matches and have no midweek action ahead of the MLS kickoff so they are expected to be fresher. In the MLS last season, New England finished winless in the last seven matches of the campaign but with Bruce Arena taking charge, and Argentine forward Leonardo Bou expected to build on his run last season, there is an air of optimism.
