Matchday 12 in the MLS will see Montreal taking on Inter Miami at Stade Saputo this weekend. The hosts are currently in 11th place, while the visitors sit atop the Eastern Conference standings. Montreal have made a mixed start to the 2024 MLS season and head into this week's fixture following a 1-1 draw to Forge in the Canadian Championship in midweek. That result followed a 4-1 defeat to Nashville in the league a few days earlier and marked their fourth consecutive match in all competitions without victory. Le CFM have recorded three wins, three draws and four losses in the league this season, leaving them on 12 points after ten games, already two points behind the playoff qualification places. Notably, Montreal have only played two home league games this season and were unbeaten in both, winning one and drawing the other. Meanwhile, Inter Miami seem to have put their CONCACAF Champions Cup disappointment against Monterrey well behind them, rattling off four consecutive wins since bowing out of the continental competition. The most recent of those victories came last weekend, when they demolished the New York Red Bulls 6-2 at home, with Luis Suarez bagging a second-half hat-trick, Matias Rojas scoring twice and Lionel Messi getting on the scoresheet as well. Miami have now scored a whopping 16 goals in their last four matches alone and 32 in the league to date, which is 11 more than any other side in the MLS. In 12 league games, the Herons have only failed to score two or more goals in a match on two occasions. On the road, Vice City have three wins, one draw and one loss in five games, with their sole defeat coing against NYRB, during a period in which Messi was out of the squad with an injury. The visitors will be out for revenge here after losing to this opponent in the reverse fixture.
