Going to this game, Montpellier are coming from a labored win over Strasbourg in Ligue 1. They had a 3-0 lead in the game by the 49th minute but were shaky towards the end, only saved by the final whistle as their hosts threatened incessantly. It was the third straight game they conceded two or more goals and they have no clean sheet in six straight matches ahead of this. They’ve however scored in each of the last 12 matches. PSG will be the second Ligue 1 opponent they meet in this competition, after earlier beating Strasbourg. After losing in four straight meetings with PSG, they’ll hope to stop the bad run here.
PSG have a good run over Montpellier; in their last meeting, they won 4-0, making it the fourth straight time they’ve scored three or more goals against Montpellier. They are the defending champions here and after winning five of the last six French Cups, they will be hoping to add this to the list to cap a tough season. Going to this game, PSG have just one win in their last four matches. They are winless in their last two matches, and the most recent could turn costly in their Ligue 1 title defence after drawing with Rennes. Earlier, they suffered elimination from the Champions League having lost 2-0 to Manchester City. They are going through a rough patch and are without a clean sheet in the last five matches but they go here as one of the best performing sides in the French Cup. They are unbeaten in seven matches in this competition, all being straight wins.
