12th placed Montpellier bid to make it two Ligue 1 wins in a row on Wednesday. It's not an easy task as they host Marseille who are currently sixth in the table. The weekend saw Montpellier win 1-0 at Metz and are now four points above the relegation zone. It was a welcome win for La Pallade after a run of six league games without a win and in which they'd failed to score in four of them. Montpellier have only won four league games this season and lost six times. Home form has seen them win just one out of eight with five of their games ending in a draw. Just two have been lost but goals haven't been flowing with only eight scored and nine conceded. They have draw three of their last four home league fixtures with their last win being against struggling Toulouse in late October.

Marseille are currently in the Europa Conference League qualifying place. They are only a couple of points behind the Champions League places and could yet be in the top four at Christmas. After losing at Brighton in the Europa League last Thursday (but going into the Knockout play-off round), The Olympians won 2-1 at home against Clermont making it four wins in a row in Ligue 1. They are unbeaten in their last five league games and will want to extend that good run into the winter break that starts after this game at Montpellier. On the road, the Phocaeaens have only won one league game but that was their most recent one at Lorient and other losses have been against top sides. We predict an away win for them on Wednesday.
