An out-of-form Montpellier will play host to Lille at the Stade de la Mosson in a Ligue 1 clash scheduled for Sunday. A poor run has left Montpellier 12th in the standings, with 18 points from 18 games while Lille are fifth on 31 points. The hosts are looking to put some daylight between themselves and relegation. Montpellier returned to winning ways last time out after thrashing fourth-tier side Feignies-Aulnoye 4-0 in the Coupe de France. Nigerian forward Akor Adams grabbed a brace in the encounter with all of Montpellier’s goals coming in the second half. The 2012 French champions are however struggling at home, having gone five games without victory. Their torrid form at their own backyard has seen them manage just four draws and a loss. Lille are chasing a place in the Champions League; a win here will be key to that target, as they could rise to third. After a two-game slump, they are picking up form, with three consecutive victories as they look to extend their winning streak against Montpellier. Lille have five straight wins against Montpellier, and are unbeaten in 11 meetings. The four-time French champions advanced to the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France with a 1-0 win over Racing last time out. They will however need to correct their Ligue 1 form that has seen them record two victories in their last five games. Lille will draw inspiration from their impeccable form against their Sunday opponents. Another positive heading into this clash is the confirmation that Leny Yoro will not be leaving, after being linked with Manchester United.
