VfB Stuttgart will be away to Borussia Monchengladbach looking to keep their Bundesliga title charge going. They are currently third in the standings and have amassed double the points that 12th-placed Gladbach have. Borussia Monchengladbach are struggling with inconsistency and have lost more matches than they have either won or drawn. They have won just four times and with five draws have racked up 17 points. Gerardo Seoane’s men come into this game having not won in three outings. Two of those have ended in defeat with the recent one being a 2-1 setback in Frankfurt. A second successive defeat here could leave Die Fohlen just four points above the drop zone.

Stuttgart are faring much better than Gladbach and have an outside chance of winning the league. At present, they find themselves eight points off the pace. Sebastian Hoenes’ men have won 11 of their 16 matches with four of those coming away from home. Stuttgart ended a two-game spell without a win by thumping Augsburg 3-0 at home last time out. It was the perfect response to a 3-0 thrashing by Bayern just days prior. The Reds have won two of the last three meetings with Gladbach. They will however be without two of their forwards here. Serhou Guirassy and Silas Mvumpa are out on national duty at the African Cup of Nations.
