Monaco vs PSG Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1
by Devesh Jaganath in Ligue 1 Predictions
Arguably the match of the weekend in Ligue 1 is set to take place at Stade Louis II on Saturday as in-form Monaco prepares to take on Paris Saint-Germain in a crucial top-half battle. The hosts are in good form coming into this match and extended their recent unbeaten run to seven consecutive matches after beating Clermont 2-0 in their last match. With five wins and two draws in their last seven, Monaco has gotten themselves into fourth place in Ligue 1 with 44 points in 22 matches. They are just two points behind Lens and Marseille in third and second, respectively, and four clear of Rennes in fifth. However, Monaco’s home form this season has been below their expectation, recording six wins, two draws, and three losses at Stade Louis II. In the reverse fixture last August, Monaco managed to hold on to a 1-1 draw and would likely settle for another point in this one.
After a stumbling start to 2023, PSG has returned to winning ways in the last two weeks and are back on their way to defending their title. The Parisians sit atop Ligue 1, with 54 points in 22 matches, and are eight points clear of the rest. After beating Toulouse 2-1 in their last match, PSG extended their recent run to three matches without defeat, and it was their third win in their last six league matches which also included a draw and two losses. PSG’s away record this season has been very good, winning eight of their eleven matches on the road, along with one draw and two losses. The visitors have not beaten this opposition in their last two meetings and will want to rectify that with a win in this one.

Our Monaco vs PSG Prediction
PSG are the favourites coming into this match and will want to maintain their lead at the top of the table with another win in this one. However, Monaco has started finding their rhythm at just the right time this season and is closing in on the sides above them at pace. They’ve held their own in this fixture of late and will not be a pushover by any means. This match could go either way, and we expect lots of chances to be created and a fair few to be put away. Therefore, our Monaco v PSG prediction is over 2.5 goals.
