Monaco start the weekend in 10th place in the table, one place behind their opponents but only on goal difference. This game doesn't take place until Sunday so both sides will most likely be a bit lower in the table by the time they set foot on the pitch. Monaco began their season well with a 4-0 loss to PSG in the Trophee de Champions but when the Ligue 1 fixtures began they began with a 3-1 win at Nantes though it took them til the 69th minute to take the lead. Their first home league game produced a goalless draw with Lille and their unbeaten record went with a 2-1 loss at Bordeaux with the winning goal coming in the 92nd minute. Last season saw them lose just one home league game so this is going to be tough for Marseille who have gone five away games against Monaco without a win and conceded ten goals in their last two visits.

The visitors had the third best away league record last season but two draws in their last couple of away matches cost them a place in the Champions League finishing in fifth, just a point behind Lyon. Their new season got off to a great start with a 4-0 home win over Toulouse with two goals from Payet. That form didn't last long as they lost 3-1 away at Nimes in their second game and followed that up with a 2-2 home draw with Rennes. They went 2-0 down in the first half and needed an own goal to rescue a point. Pre-season wasn't great for them with a heavy 5-2 loss at English Premier League Bournemouth and five goals conceded in the last two games isn't promising. Go for Monaco to get the home win in this match.
