A crucial top-four battle in Ligue 1 will unfold on Wednesday as Monaco and Lille clash for supremacy. The matchday 30 game will be played at the Stade Louis II on Wednesday. Monaco are second in the standings with 55 points, while the visitors are only three points above the bottom three. The hosts are coming off a crucial win, having won three in a row.  Those wins also extended their unbeaten run to seven matches in all, with Monaco winning five and drawing two. If they aren’t able to win a point here and Paris Saint-Germain win their match against Lorient, the league title would be won by PSG. While that is incentive enough to improve and start their own form, Monaco will be wary of their recent home form. They have won only one of their last seven matches in all competitions, drawing and losing three games each.

Lille earned a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture and, like their hosts, also have some impressive recent form coming off a top-four push. The visitors are only a point outside the top three and can, in fact, swap positions with Monaco with a win. Home and away, they won 1-0 against Strasbourg for their first win after twin losses in Europe. Barring those defeats, Lille have avoided defeat in eight matches, winning five and drawing three. That sequence looks promising, but Lille has some work to do on their away record. They have lost four and drawn two of their last eight away matches in all competitions, including a 2-1 loss last time on the road.
