Monaco vs Le Havre Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

Sunday’s Ligue 1 action kicks off at  Stade Louis-II, where Monaco will play host to Le Havre. The hosts are currently in fourth place in the league standings, while the visitors are 11th. After missing out on Europe by just two points last season, Monaco looks determined not to suffer the same fate this term. They made a very positive start to the season, currently on 34 points after 19 matches and just one point behind the Champions League qualification spots. The Red and Whites passed up an opportunity to move back into the top three last week when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Marseille. That followed a 3-1 win over Rodez a week earlier, which booked their place in the Round of 16 of the Coupe de France. At home, Monaco have lost their last two league home games against Lyon and Reims, which takes their record to six wins and three losses in nine games this season. The reverse fixture back in November ended goalless, but the hosts are the favourites heading into this one. 

Meanwhile, Le Havre can be well proud of what they have managed over the first half of their return to the French top flight. They are on 23 points after 19 matches and are eight points clear of the relegation zone. The Dean Club played out an entertaining 3-3 draw away to Lorient last week, which followed a 3-1 home win over Lyon a couple of weeks ago. Over the course of the season, the visitors have a record of five wins, eight draws and just six losses. They have also been good in defence, allowing just 23 goals to date which is the sixth-best record in Ligue 1. However, their away record is less impressive. Le Havre are winless in their last four league games on the road (W0 D2 L2) and have won just one of their ten away matches this season. Still, they did hold the free-scoring Monaco to a stalemate the last time they met and will fancy their chances of getting something from this one as well.
