Monaco are a win away from securing a Champions League slot and will hope to clinch that when they host Clermont. While Monaco are on to big things, Clermont are bottom of the table and staring at relegation. In their chase for a top three finish, Monaco had a stumble last time out, losing 3-2 away to Lyon. That was their first defeat in the last nine matches and the first in four where they failed to keep a clean sheet. By their record against Clermont, this is a game Monaco will walk into as favorites. Monaco’s only defeat in this fixture came when the two sides were playing in Ligue 2. They rose from a goal down to beat Clermont 4-2 in the reverse fixture, Wissam Ben Yedder scoring twice in that clash. Those strikes took Ben Yedder’s tally in five matches against Clermont to five goals. The forward also scored the two goals as Monaco lost to Lyon and will be a key figure here.
