It's not too easy to work out what Manchester City are going to do next. They start the season off with five straight wins in the Premier League without even conceding a goal. Then they go and lose at home to Juventus and West Ham, then beat Sunderland away 4-1 and go on to lose at Spurs by the same scoreline.  City always seem to struggle in Europe but the fact does remain that in the past two seasons only Bayern Munich and Barcelona have won home games against them.  A lot depends on whether Kompany will be fit for this game, with him in the side City move up another level. The fact he was training last week and didn't play at Tottenham points to him being fit for this game.  Moenchengladbach have also had an up and down season and lost their opening game in this group 3-0 to Sevilla.  They lost their first five Bundesliga games of the season leading to their manager quitting last week. That, as is often the case, led to the German side finding form and beating Augsburg 4-2 at home and Stuttgart 3-1 away. However, those two sides are in the relegation zone and not quite Manchester City who can get  back on track with a win here.
