Burnley have been cruising along in this Championship campaign and have one foot already in next season’s Premier League. The Clarets have built up an 11 point lead over second-place Sheffield United and a 15 point lead over third-place Middlesbrough. On the other side, Millwall enter the contest deeply entrenched in a playoff promotion battle. Millwall - Burnley: Form Analysis
After snatching a last-gasp equalizer in the 95th minute of extra-time to salvage a point, Burnley were able to bounce back with a solid 1-0 away victory over Luton Town thanks to a 78th minute Ashley Barnes penalty. The Clarets have now extended their unbeaten run to 12 matches across all competitions as well as a remarkable run of 11 victories and one draw over their last 12 Championship matches. Manager Vincent Kompany has done a fantastic job of transforming this Burnley side in such a short period of time and they have separated themselves as the clear cream of the crop in England’s second-tier of football.
Millwall should be in high-spirits heading into this game after their morale-booting 3-2 win over second-place Sheffield United on Saturday. Things won’t get any easier for the hosts as they face off against the top two teams in the standings within three days of one another. However, the Lions showed excellent determination against the Blades on the weekend to push on and get the eventual winner in the 88th minute of play after Sheffield looked like they were going to walk away with a point after making it 2-2 in the 82nd minute. Millwall has been consistently good at home this season with nine wins from their 15 matches at The Den. They’ve also amassed a +13 goal differential in these contests compared to their -6 goal differential as the away team.

Millwall & Burnley Squad Analysis
Emerging star Nathan Tella was pulled at the hour mark in the win over Luton but Burnley expect the 23-year-old to be fit for this match and make the starting 11. Manager Vincent Kompany will still be without the services of striker Jay Rodriguez, defender Jordan Beyer and winger Benson Manuel. On the other side, Millwall manager Gary Rowett isn’t expected to make many changes from the team that picked up a thrilling 3-2 win over Sheffield but the short three day recovery time might mean some players are rotated.

Our Millwall vs Burnley Prediction
Millwall have been a tough out at The Den this season and this certainly will not be an easy match for the visiting league leaders. These two teams should ultimately wind up canceling each other out with a 1-1 type of result likely pleasing both managers. The price on this line has dropped since opening but at the current odds we still see enough value to make it a bet. Our Millwall vs Burnley prediction: under 2.5 goals
