Millonarios will on Friday host the second leg of their Copa Libertadores qualifier with Universidad Catolica at the El Campin Stadium. Both teams have everything to play for in this match after the first leg ended 0-0. Millonarios come into this match after suffering their first defeat of the season, losing 1-0 away to Once Caldas in the Colombian topflight. After starting their season with back-to-back wins, Alberto Gamero’s men are now without a win in their last two and will be keen not to have this run extended by their visitors from Ecuador. Los Azules have a strong record at home domestically over the last two seasons but it is while playing continental football that they have not been able to exert themselves as hosts. Millonarios have only one win in their last six Copa Libertadores home matches but to be fair to them, they have played against some of the powerhouses in the continent with their last home match being against Fluminense.

This return match will be Universidad’s third match of the new season and they too come into this match having lost in their last outing. Igor Oca’s men were resoundingly beaten 4-1 away to Tecnico Universitario in the league to prolong their search for a first win for the season. Away from home in the Copa Libertadores, Los Cruzados have also struggled and haven’t won on the road since their return to the competition back in 2021 and have lost two and drawn two of the four matches they have played. Having scored just one goal this season, Universidad could be set for another disappointing trip.
