Middlesbrough vs Wolves Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Predictions
Middlesbrough start the weekend in sixth place in the Championship, the final play-off position. It's a close battle to reach the play-offs and Boro are only four points clear of Millwall in tenth. They have just eight games left to play in the regular season but face a tough time in this game as they host league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers. Middlesbrough are on a run of six games unbeaten in the Championship with their last loss being away to second-placed Cardiff City. Home form is strong with four straight wins and they have scored three goals in each of their last three games on home territory. Overall they have won 11 out of 19 at home and only Cardiff have conceded less home league goals this season.
Wolves look certain to win promotion back to the Premier League and it's just a matter of time before that is achieved. They lead the table by six points but are 13 clear of third placed Fulham and with a better goal difference. Wolves did have a slight dip in form a few weeks ago but have won three of their last four league games, scoring a trio of goals in each of those wins. Their away form is a bit troublesome though with recent losses at Fulham and Aston Villa. They have the best away record in the division but up against the best sides in the table they are a bit vulnerable. This should be an open game and the suggested bet is to go for over 2.5 goals in the match.

Our Middlesbrough vs Wolves Prediction
Both these sides will be in the promotion shake-up in the closing weeks of the season. Middlesbrough have been in good form of late and the same can be said to Wolves though their away form against top teams is a bit of a concern. This should be an open game and both teams have been scoring lots lately, so go for over 2.5 goals to be scored in this encounter.
