Middlesbrough vs West Brom Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Predictions
Both Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion have made strong starts to their Championship seasons. Middlesbrough were top of the table until Leeds overtook them with a point at Swansea City on Tuesday evening. They lost in the play-off semi-finals to Aston Villa last season and have had a busy time in the transfer market this summer. Some top players including Patrick Bamford and Ben Gibson have departed but Boro still look a good side. So far their league season has seen them win three and draw one conceding just two goals. Both of those came in their opening draw at Millwall where two late goals earned them a 2-2 draw. Since then, Middlesbrough have won three league games in a row, all with clean sheets. Their only defeat in the last six home league/play-off games was to Villa in that semi-final and four of the last six have had under 2.5 goals scored in them and they only conceded 17 home league goals last season.
West Bromwich Albion are bidding to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking and have seven points from their first four league games. They started the season with a 2-1 home loss to Bolton Wanderers followed by a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest. Albion's shaky start continued when they went 1-0 down at Norwich City but they battled back well to win 4-3. Last weekend saw them hammer QPR 7-1 with six of their goals coming in the second-half. Away form was a struggle last season when relegated from the Premier League but goals and wins do tend to breed confidence. This isn't easy to predict but a double chance bet on Middlesbrough to win or draw should pay-off.

Our Middlesbrough vs West Brom Prediction
This should give us a few clues about how well both teams can do this season. Boro have been impressive in their last three league games and kept clean sheets in all of them. West Brom have scored 11 in their last two league matches but this will be a lot tougher than Norwich and QPR. A double chance bet on Middlesbrough is the suggestion.
