Middlesbrough will return from the international break with a home match against Preston North End in the Championship. This game presents seventh-placed Boro a chance to rise into the top six at 21st positioned Lilywhites’ expense. Let’s have a look at the prediction for the match.

Heading into the two-week hiatus, Middlesbrough claimed a 2-0 win over Cardiff City. Aaron Ramsey’s own goal added to Mathew Clarke’s second half opener to see the hosts return to winning ways.

Before that victory, Middlesbrough had gone winless in three straight games, among them a 5-0 loss to Stoke City in the League Cup. They now have the chance to win consecutive league matches for the first time this season.

Michael Carrick’s side has been impressive at home, losing only once in the last eight league games.
