Middlesbrough top the Championship at the time of writing with a two point lead over Burnley in second and Brighton and Hove Albion (who they play at home in their final fixture) with three games to go. It could have been even better for them but for a late equalizer by Burnley as the top two met on Tuesday. They might not be top by the time this game is played as Burnley can jump above them with a win at Preston North End on Friday evening.  That late Burnley goal ended a run of six straight league wins for Boro since a shock 2-0 defeat at now relegated Charlton Athletic. Home form is excellent with six home wins on the bounce and just three goals conceded and just one in the last four. It's a big improvement from early March when they slipped out of the top two automatic promotion spots after losing three out of four league games all to sides in the bottom half of the table. Ipswich Town start the weekend in eighth place, eight points off the final play-off position but with just three games to go. Recent form has been disappointing though with four draws and two defeats in their last six games.They have no wins in their last four away games but have drawn three of those. Boro won 2-0 at Ipswich in the reverse fixture and can get another important win here.
