Middlesbrough have had a few dodgy periods this season amidst some excellent runs of form. They come into this final game of the regular league season lying in the one remaining automatic promotion spot. Avoiding defeat against Brighton is the key here, do that and they'll be in the Premier League next season. Lose and Brighton go up and Boro go into the play-offs. Middlesbrough haven't lost in the last nine league games but six straight wins have been followed by three draws. Drawing at promoted Burnley was a good result but they really should have beaten Ipswich and Birmingham to avoid this last day drama.  Brighton are the form side in the table and unbeaten in their last 13 league games and just one in the last 19. They too could have given themselves a slightly easier final day of the season if they'd beaten Derby on Monday. They drew 1-1 but a win would have meant they are the ones who only need to avoid defeat. Time to declare an interest in this game, you see I now live in Brighton but even though my heart wants to see them win I can't pluck up the courage to tell you that's what my head thinks will happen. This will be like a Cup Final and nerves galore. Boro aren't in top form but I'm going for both teams to score here.
