Mexico vs Uruguay Prediction & Betting Tips - Copa America
by | in Copa America Predictions
Mexico are top of their World Cup qualifying group having won all four games scoring ten and yet to concede a goal. Beating the likes of Canada, Honduras and El Salvador is a little bit less daunting than what Uruguay have to cope with. They have to take on all of South America (basically another Copa America tournament without the guest nations) but are currently top of the table and looking likely to qualify for Russia. Mexico have competed in the last nine Copa America tournaments but have failed to get out of the group stages in their last two. Before that they'd lost in two finals and finished third three times. No side has won Copa America as many times as Uruguay with 15 titles, the last in 2011 but only two since 1987. They finished third in their group last year and then lost to hosts Chile in the quarter finals. Mexico are unbeaten in their last 19 games with eight consecutive clean sheets but this is a big step up in the class of opposition and sides such as Argentina, Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica all scored against them before that. Uruguay are on a four game unbeaten run and recent wins have been over Chile, Trinidad & Tobago and Peru plus a draw away to Brazil. An interesting game and I go for a narrow Uruguay win here.
