Mexico vs Sweden Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Indran in Football Predictions
Mexico and Sweden clash at the neutral venue of the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi for this friendly international. The Mexicans are in the final stages of their preparations before heading off to the World Cup while Sweden will be looking to rebuild after a disappointing Nations League campaign. Mexico are coming of an excellent 4-0 win over Iraq in their last match which was just their second win in their last five matches. Their last competitive match was in the North & Central America: CONCACAF Nations League where they were held to a 1-1 draw that meant they are second in the group to Jamaica. Mexico qualified for the global showpiece when they finished second in their World Cup qualifying group, only behind group winners Canada on goal difference. They continued their excellent record of reaching every World Cup since 1994.
Sweden played out a 1-1 draw against Slovenia in their last match which ended a horror run of four consecutive defeats. They had a disastrous Nations League tournament that saw them finish bottom of their group with just one win in their six group games. Sweden started their campaign with a win but then fell apart with four defeats and a draw. They have now been relegated to Group C of the competition. Sweden's World Cup dream ended when they lost to Poland in the final of the qualifiers and it was their first loss to the Poles since 1991. They have struggled to come to terms with that loss and will hope to regain some confidence in this match with a win.
