Mexico vs Honduras Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Nella Wagah | in Football Predictions
After the disappointment in the CONCACAF Nations League final, Mexico will get back in action to start preparations for the Gold Cup, with a friendly match against Honduras. This is the first of three friendly matches lined up for Mexico before the continental competition starts. Mexico are winless in their last two matches, having drawn with Costa Rica before losing to USA, both in the Nations League. They however have two clean sheets in their last four matches and with just two defeats in their last 15 matches, they will go to this game as favorites. They have 11 wins in the 15 matches and in terms of squad strength going to this game, they have better quality players. The last time these nations faced off was in 2017, and Honduras claimed a 3-2 win to end a run of six winless matches against Mexico
Honduras didn’t get to the Nations League final but ended the competition on a high after beating Costa Rica to third place on post match penalties after a 2-2 draw. The result at full time meant Honduras haven’t registered a win in 90 minutes in their last six matches. They have three outright losses and without a clean sheet in the last six matches. In three of the five matches, they’ve conceded two or more goals. They’ve scored more than a goal in just one of their last six matches though they failed to score in only one of their last 13 matches.

Our Mexico vs Honduras Prediction
Honduras are hoping for a consecutive win over Mexico for the first time in their history and will be looking to pile on the Mexicans’ misery after the loss in the Nations League. They are good scorers but Mexico are too. Mexico have scored two or more goals in six of their last 10 matches while three of Honduras’ last five have produced over 2.5 goals. Not much is at stake here and we expect changes and a relaxed outing as the coaches sharpen their teams for the Gold Cup. As such, goals on both ends looks promising so go for over 2.5 goals.
