Mexico vs Costa Rica Prediction & Betting Tips - CONCACAF Nations League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Football Predictions
Mexico and Costa Rica will be battling for a spot in the Concacaf Nations League final after topping their respective groups in League A. The matches are set to be staged in Denver, Colorado, and Mexico, who gained the most points across all the groups will be confident of extending their dominance. They went unbeaten in their group and it was just a culmination of a good run that sees them head to this clash with one loss in their last 13 matches. Each of their last eight matches were friendly clashes and the only loss there came away to Wales. The 1-0 loss then remains the only time they’ve failed to score in the last 13 matches. In 10 of the 13, they’ve managed to score two or more goals while keeping six clean sheets. Mexico have a strong team for this Nations League clash, including Atletico Madrid’s Hector Herrera, PSV’s Erick Gutierrez, Napoli’s Hirving Lozano and Jesus Corona of FC Porto. As expected, Raul Jimenez is out as he continues with recovery following a head injury while Diego Lainez of Real Betis is also out.
Costa Rica managed just six points in Group D, the least points earned by a group winner ahead of the semi finals. In their last seven meetings with Mexico, Costa Rica have no win, and after the lackluster showing at the group stage, they will hope for a better turn here. Their last game was actually against Mexico, in a friendly game in March. Costa Rica lost that 1-0, and it was their second straight game without scoring and the third in five. In their last eight matches, Costa Rica have no win and have managed just one win in 14 matches while in the last 15, they’ve kept just two clean sheets.

Our Mexico vs Costa Rica Prediction
It goes without saying, Costa Rica are the weakest of the nations that qualified for the semis. They have a poor run against Mexico and generally haven’t done well in their recent games. They also don’t keep a lot of clean sheets and face a very strong Mexico side. Back Mexico to win here.
