A late equalizer against Venezuela earned Mexico a draw and that point saw them top their group with seven points from their three games. Their campaign began well with a 3-1 win over Uruguay again thanks to some late goals. Four of their six goals in this tournament have come in the 80th minute or beyond. That win over Uruguay, who have been eliminated from the Copa America already, was followed by a 2-0 win over guest nation Jamaica and then that 1-1 draw with Venezuela, the surprise side of this tournament so far. That draw ended a run of 11 straight wins (one in extra time) for Mexico. Chile are the holders of this title having won as hosts last year. They finished second in their group in this tournament behind the all-conquering Argentinian side. Chile lost to them in their opening fixture but only 2-1. They got their title defence back on track with a 2-1 win over Bolivia, Mexico might get a few late goals but Chile had to wait for a 100th minute penalty to get the win in that game. Then they had to come from behind to beat Panama 4-2 to clinch qualification.  Mexico are in form at present and can get the win here to end Chile's reign as Copa America champions.
