Mexico vs Brazil Prediction & Betting Tips - Men's Olympic Tournament
by Daniel Ngulu | in Men's Olympic Tournament Predictions
Mexico and Brazil had wins in normal time in the quarter finals at Tokyo 2020 and will be relatively fresher when they get to face off in the semi finals. Mexico trounced Korea Republic 6-3 in their game while Brazil secured a 1-0 win over a very defensive-minded Egypt side. The most outstanding stats about Mexico coming into this game, they’ve been very good in attack, but poor defensively. So far in four matches, Mexico have scored 14 goals; they’ve actually scored in each of their matches and in only one have they failed to score more than a goal. However, they have managed just one clean sheet in the four matches, and twice in that run, they conceded two or more goals. Their only clean sheet came against a South Africa side that lost all of their group stage matches. In total, Mexico have conceded six goals and each of their matches has produced over 2.5 goals.
The quality in the Brazil team will be a major factor here as they seek to defend the gold they won at Rio 2016. Whereas most of the players in the Mexico team have only been tested at club level in their country, Brazil have an array of stars who have played at very high levels. They had some hard moments trying to break a defensive Egyptian side in the quarters, though they weren’t troubled defensively and will be glad to have scored the winner. Brazil should enjoy this game more, with Mexico so far employing a fearless approach and going all out in attack. They haven’t scored as many goals as Mexico, but Brazil have the edge in defensive solidity, which has seen them keep two clean sheets, conceding three goals, which is three less than Mexico’s tally. Two of Brazil’s four matches have produced over 2.5 goals and they only failed to score in one – against Ivory Coast.

Our Mexico vs Brazil Prediction
Brazil take to this game players with better quality, and the team has also done well so far, with a good balance in defence and attack. Mexico have struggled a bit defensively and that may haunt them here, and their players aren’t as experienced as Brazil’s. Back Brazil to win here, but with both teams scoring, looking at Mexico’s scoring form.
