Mexico vs Brazil Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Kennedy Kechula in Football Predictions
Texas A&M University’s Kyle Field Stadium is set to host its first ever international soccer game when Mexico and Brazil meet there on Sunday. These two nations are preparing for the 2024 Copa America to be hosted in the USA. Mexico headline Group B of the competition and here they go into the last of their friendly games before the competition. Heading into this game, Mexico have struggled to stay consistent, winning just four of their last 11 matches. As they grapple with their form, Mexico will also be looking to improve defensively. In their most recent game, they were beaten 4-0 by Uruguay for their fourth loss in seven matches. Before then they had beaten Bolivia 1-0, a recovery from their loss to USA in the Nations League final. Conceding two or more goals in seven of their last 11 matches doesn’t portray Mexico as a very strong side. They also come into this game without a win in the last four meetings with Brazil. In three of their last four matches against Brazil, Mexico conceded twice. They failed to score in the last four meetings.
The last time these two nations met was at the 2018 World Cup, with Brazil winning 2-0 to eliminate Mexico. In the last seven meetings, Brazil have won five times and lost once. That should pump them up with confidence coming into this game but they aren’t on a great run themselves. Brazil may have avoided defeat in their last two matches, but they only have one win in their last six outings. Like Mexico, they too are grappling with inconsistency, having lost three times in the last five matches. It hasn’t been any better for them defensively either. Brazil have managed just two clean sheets in their last 14 matches across all competitions. In their last outing, the five-time world champions needed a late Lucas Paqueta penalty to save them from defeat to Spain. That encounter ended 3-3, making it four matches in nine that they conceded more than a goal. On a more positive note, Brazil have only failed to score three times in their last 24 matches.

Our Mexico vs Brazil Prediction
These two nations have endured some inconsistent performances in recent matches and will be looking to right a few wrongs here. Both sides have the needed firepower in attack but seem lacking in defence. Being an exhibition match, we don’t expect much caution from either side as they sharpen up for the Copa America. That could see this end in another high-scoring encounter. Our prediction for Mexico v Brazil is for over 2.5 goals and both teams to score.
