Melbourne City vs Sydney Prediction & Betting Tips - A-League

Melbourne City will welcome Sydney FC on Friday to usher in Round 3 of the Australian A-League. The two teams are yet to register a single point with Sydney sitting 11th, a place above bottom-placed City. Melbourne City have had the worst possible start to their Premiers title defence. Rado Vidosic’s men have lost both their opening two fixtures and have done so by conceding a whopping eight goals. After losing 2-1 at home to Western United on matchday one, the Hearts were thumped 6-0 away to Adelaide United last time out. The City Blues have been juggling playing domestically and in the Champions League. They have been in excellent form continentally and are unbeaten in three outings. It is therefore a matter of time before things click in the league.

Sydney FC have also had a disappointing start to the campaign and have lost their two opening rounds. They are also yet to score and have soaked in five goals already. Steve Corica’s men were defeated 3-0 away to Brisbane Roar last time out. This was a shock result as just three weeks earlier, Sydney had won the Australian Cup by beating Brisbane 3-1 in the final. The Sky Blues won 2-1 the last time they were away to City. This was slightly over a month ago in the Cup and they will hope for the same outcome on Friday.
