Melbourne City vs Brisbane Roar Prediction & Betting Tips - A-League
by Steve Ashfield | in Football Predictions
A-League leaders Melbourne City look to recover from last weekend's loss at Adelaide. They are home to Brisbane Roar who are one from bottom in the table. Melbourne City are six points clear at the top but have two games in hand on Western Sydney Wanderers and one on Adelaide United. City's title hopes were boosted when Western Sydney Wanderers lost at Perth Glory on Friday. City have lost two of their last three A-League fixtures but both were on the road. Home form is much stronger and they are the only club not to lose a home league fixture this season. Six out of eight games have been won including five of the last five with 21 goals put past their opponents. They've scored at least three times in all but one of the last six played on home soil. The two sides met in January in Brisbane and the game ended goalless. That's extremely unlikely to happen this weekend.
Brisbane Roar are two points clear of bottom club Melbourne Victory. They are seven points behind the final play-off position but need to improve their form to get anywhere near a top six finish. Last week saw them lose 3-2 at Macarthur. They drew level after being 2-0 down but conceded a 95th minute winner. Brisbane had earned four points from their previous two games. That included a home win over Perth Glory who possess the worst away record in the A-League. Brisbane Roar have only won two of their nine away league games this season. Only nine goals have been scored on the road, the third worst away record in the league. Just one point has been earned from their last five away league fixtures with 12 goals conceded. Back Melbourne City to get the win.
