Medeama will aim to rise to the top of Group D of the CAF Champions League when they host Young Africans. These two go into Match Day 3 of the competition with Medeama third and Young Africans bottom. After opening with a loss to champions Al Ahly, Medeama recovered to beat Belouizdad 2-1 on Match Day 2. A second straight home game presents the Ghanaian side with the opportunity for a second straight win. They haven't had a really great run, with just one win in four matches. Young Africans haven't had a swift start to their continental group stage campaign. They come into this game with just a point earned from their opening two games. A 90th minute strike from Pacome Zouzoua ensured they avoided a second straight defeat in the group. That match ending 1-1 at home to champions Al Ahly was a good starting point in preparation for the Medeama game. The Tanzanians will definitely derive confidence from that result, having earlier fallen 3-0 to Belouizdad. Four times in their last six Champions League matches, Young Africans emerged winners. They will thus not be cowed by being at this stage. Their confidence will further be boosted by their three wins in five away Champions League games. Somehow though, their matches haven't been high-scoring. Three of the last five ended in under 2.5 goals.
