Mauritania vs Angola Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

Angola will look upon this game against Mauritania as a great chance to take their points tally in this group to four points. Doing so would make it almost certain that they would qualify for the last 16 as one of the top third-placed countries. They are ranked 123rd in the world and are trying to bring back the glory days when they reached the quarter finals of the African Cup of Nations in both 2008 and 2010. Angola are ranked 20 places below their opponents but come into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Tunisia.  They went 1-0 down in the first half but equalized with only 17 minutes to go. That draw took their unbeaten run to four games but the last team to beat them just happens to be Mauritania in October of last year. That was a 1-0 defeat in Mauritania and followed a 4-1 home win over them in the qualifying group for this tournament. Angola won that group after finishing level on points but having the best head-to-head result.

Mauritania have it all to do after losing their opening group game 4-1 to Mali. That was their second straight defeat with seven goals conceded in those two matches. Only one of their last four games have been won and that was against Madagascar who are ranked 108th in the world. That was a home game though and Mauritania really struggle on the road. They have lost their last seven matches with only three goals scored and 19 conceded. Go for Angola to build on that opening draw and win this match against Mauritania.
