Marseille vs Porto Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League

Marseille are in deep trouble at the bottom of this Champions League group. They have no points and no goals and host second placed Porto who have six points from their three games. Marseille's quaification hopes will end if they don't win this match. Their main target now is surely closing the gap on third placed Olympiakos (who they trail by three points) and being moved into the Europa League. Marseille have already lost away to Olympiakos and Porto with their only home fixture being a 3-0 defeat by top-of-the-table Manchester City. They are six points behind Porto so nothing but a win is needed here due to that loss to the Portuguese side. The weekend saw them win 1-0 at Strasbourg, taking them to fourth in Ligue 1. The victory was only their third in the last ten league and cup games. Home form isn't inspiring with only a win over Bordeaux in their last seven league and cup games. As for the Champions League, Marseille have lost seven of their last eight home games, though this is their first campaign since 2013. They also lost all three home group games in last season's Europa League. All a far cry from making it to the Europa League final in 2018 when unbeaten in nine home matches.

Porto trail Manchester City by three points in this group but still have a home game against them. They lead third placed Olympiakos by three points and a win in Marseille will nearly take them into the last sixteen. Porto began this group with a 3-1 away loss to Manchester City, though they did lead in that game. They got back on track with a 2-0 home win over Olympiakos, before beating Marseille 3-0. Porto are fourth in the Primeira League but go into this match with three straight wins and eight goals scored. Only one of their last six games has ended in defeat, a 3-2 away loss to Pacos de Ferreira. Away form isn't that great with one win in the last four. Three of their last four away matches in the Champions League have been lost but against Roma, Liverpool and Manchester City, Marseille aren't in that class.  Take away those results and Porto haven't lost in six away Champions League matches. They can get an away win here.
