Marseille and Galatasaray had mixed fortunes in their weekend matches domestically and they will both go in the hunt for three points in Group E of the Europa League on Match Day 2. Marseille’s inconsistent run saw them lose 3-2 to Lens and they will be out to rectify after drawing 1-1 with Lokomotiv Moscow on Match Day 1. The loss to Lens also marked their first game in five that produced over 2.5 goals, and they have three clean sheets in their last five matches. At home, they have done well in attack, scoring two goals in each of the four matches. Marseille have a poor record in the Europa League; before this season, they last played in it in 2016, and they go here without a win in nine matches in the competition. Of the nine matches, they’ve lost seven.

Galatasaray on the other hand, are coming from a 2-1 win over Goztepe and lead this group on three points after their opening 1-0 win over Lazio. They however have just one clean sheet in their last five matches and have failed to score in two of their last three games. The win over Goztepe was only their second in the last five matches, and they had suffered two straight losses before. Away from home, Galatasaray have no win in the last four matches, and have no clean sheet too in that run; in fact, they have conceded two or more in their last three. They need a lot of improvement defensively, having led in three of their last four away matches, but dropped points.
