Manchester United vs Manchester City Prediction & Betting Tips - Carabao Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in Carabao Cup Predictions
The city of Manchester has dominated the EFL Cup in recent years. The last four seasons have seen the cup head up north to Manchester and this year's final will see a representative from that city. Manchester United won the cup in 2017 but have to beat their neighbours to reach the final and their opponents have won this cup three times in the past four years. Both sides will play weakened line-ups in this first leg of the semi-final but with Wembley in sight, perhaps a bit stronger than in the early rounds. Manchester United drew with Wolves at the weekend in the FA Cup third round making it two games without a win and no goals scored. Home form has seen United go 13 games unbeaten but that record looks to be in jeopardy in this cup tie.
Manchester City can leave a few players out and still have a dream that most clubs would dream of having. They beat Port Vale 4-1 in the FA Cup at the weekend to make it three wins in a row with eight goals scored. They don't look like retaining their Premier League title but again winning the two domestic cup competitions looks to be well within their ability. City have won seven of their last eight league and cup games and up against not the strongest of United's defences, they can get an away win in this first leg.

Our Manchester United vs Manchester City Prediction
Manchester City are the cup holders and have won this trophy three times in the last four seasons. They are back in good form again and scoring lots of goals and up against a United defence that doesn't keep too many clean sheets, they have a good chance of victory here. Neither side are likely to field full strength sides but City have the stronger squad and can be backed to win this match.
