It's the Manchester derby in the Women's Super League this weekend. Manchester United are third in the table, three places and two points above the visitors Manchester City. Both of these clubs had a free midweek to their early exits in the Women's Champions League. United have won three of their last four league and cup games with 19 goals being scored and 13 in the last two. The Women's Super League doesn't have a great deal of depth though and those results have been achieved against sides in the lower areas of the table. United are unbeaten at home this season in the Women's Super League but only one of their three games have been won. That was against West Ham but before that they had two score draws against Arsenal and Leicester City. Three of their last five home league games have seen both teams score.

Manchester City can go ahead of their opponents if winning this derby match. They begin the weekend in sixth, six points behind leaders Chelsea and with a vastly inferior goal difference. Of their six league games this season, they earned ten points from their first four games. However, the last two have produced a loss at Arsenal (second in the table) and a surprise 1-0 home loss to Brighton who are currently eighth. Away form has seen City beat West Ham and Leicester City before the Arsenal defeat. Two of their last three league and cup games have seen both teams get on the scoresheet and believe that statistic will come up again in this match.
