Manchester United and Manchester City are set to meet for the second time this season, this time in the League Cup semi final at Old Trafford on Wednesday. Of the two semi finals, most of the attention will be on this game, with the other featuring Tottenham Hotspur against Brentford. Both Manchester United and Manchester City head to this game on the back of fine runs. United are unbeaten in their last seven matches and go to this game on the back of four wins in the last five matches and their last four matches have had very dramatic endings. They beat Aston Villa 2-1 in their last game but had to withstand moments of pressure towards the end before bagging three points. The two goals scored meant they have now scored twice or more in five of their last six matches but they have just two clean sheets in the six matches. Bruno Fernandes has continued inspiring the team and after his goal against Villa, he has four in the last five matches. More focus on better defending will do them a lot of good, the team having conceded two or more goals in five of their last 10 games.
