The title race is over for another year but Manchester United still want to maintain their current second place. They host Liverpool who are in sixth and battling to get into the Champions League. United are having a busy week thanks to the postponement of this fixture earlier this month. Hopefully there won't be any repetition of those events before this match. Tuesday saw Manchester United lose at home to Leicester City, their second loss in three games. It ended an unbeaten home run of six home league matches, five of which had been won. After Tuesday's games, United are four points clear of Leicester in third. That gap to third would be reduced to three if Chelsea beat Arsenal on Wednesday. One more win should guarantee second place for United as Chelsea have an inferior goal difference. United will make more changes as they try to prepare for their Europa League final later this month. It's noticeable that United had a highly talented bench for the Leicester game. Players such as Rashford, Cavani, Pogba and Fernandes are likely starters. Five of their last six home league games have seen both teams get on the scoresheet. 

This time last year, Liverpool had already won the Premier League title. Coming into this game, they are 23 points behind champions Manchester City. Their hopes of Champions League football next season aren't looking that great. A win for Chelsea against Arsenal would see them nine points off fourth with four games remaining. Even if Chelsea were to lose, they'd still be seven above Liverpool. A win in this game would take them into fifth above faltering West Ham. Missing out on Europe altogether is a possibility but Liverpool do have a good away record. Five of their last seven away league games have been won. Four of those matches saw both teams score a goal. . A bet on both teams scoring is the wager to make for this match.
