Manchester United will be looking to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup when they take on Everton under the lights at Old Trafford on Friday night. The Red Devils are coming into this match fresh off another convincing win, this time over Bournemouth by three goals to nil on Tuesday night in the Premier League. Their triumph over Bournemouth has made it six consecutive wins for Man United as they took another step toward holding on to those coveted Champions League spots on offer for the top four sides. Man United is currently in 4th place in the league, level on points with an extremely impressive Newcastle side that is now 12 games without defeat. They also opened the gap to 5th place Spurs by 5 points, who have a tricky London derby against Crystal Palace to deal with on Wednesday night. Eric ten Hag's side has looked like a completely different outfit since returning from the World Cup and is playing with more freedom and attacking ambition. The last time United took on Everton was in the league back in October, where they came away with a 2-1 win away from home, and they will be expecting to put on a similar - if not better - performance this time round on their home patch with several high-profile players ready to resume action for the Red Devils. 

Everton has not hit their stride yet this season. They come into this match having lost 4-1 to Brighton on the same night as United's win over Bournemouth. That defeat for Everton followed a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Manchester City and underlined Everton's inconsistency this season. The one positive that the Merseyside club will look to is that they have drawn their last three matches at Old Trafford and will be hoping they can do something similar in this one. Everton is without a win in their last five matches in all competitions and is in 16th place in the English Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone. While they would love to come away with a win in this game, Frank Lampard may already be considering several changes with matches against Southampton and West Ham coming in the next couple of weeks. If they were to lose those, they could find themselves at the bottom of the table by the end of January, with relegation firmly a possibility.
