Manchester United - Crystal Palace: Form Analysis
Manchester United progressed to the fourth round of the League Cup at the expense of Saturday’s opponents. Erik ten Hag’s men won 3-0 at home on Tuesday to register back-to-back victories for the first time this season. The win followed up last weekend’s 1-0 success away to Burnley which had ended a run of three successive defeats. United will now seek a third successive win as they are in their best form so far this season. The hosts are already nine points off the pace and sit five points adrift of the top five. They have won three of their six league games with the other three ending in defeats. Coupling their current form with their four-match unbeaten stretch against Palace, the Red Devils will be confident of another win.
Crystal Palace have hit a snag and arrive for this match without a win in three outings. They have lost twice and both defeats have seen them concede three times. Roy Hodgson’s charges have also not scored in their last two fixtures as before losing to United, they had drawn 0-0 with Fulham. Before this dip in form, the Londoners had gone unbeaten for three matches and won twice. Palace have won two of their six league fixtures which is the same number they have drawn and also lost. In the league recently, Palace have fared much better against United. They have earned four points from the last three league meetings and will hope to squeeze out something on Saturday.

Manchester United & Crystal Palace Squad Analysis
United were a much-changed side against Palace in midweek with seven changes made to the squad that won last weekend. Erik ten Hag is again expected to make a raft of changes with Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandez, and Rasmus Hojlund expected to start. Mason Mount, Harry Maguire, and Raphael Varane are all back to full fitness and should be included here. Casemiro has been an unlikely source of goals for United and leads the club’s scoring charts with six goals thus far. He was on target in midweek as were Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Martial. Sofyan Amrabat made his long-awaited debut on Tuesday and played for an hour. The Moroccan should be a starter here.
Roy Hodgson made six changes at Old Trafford on Tuesday. Dean Henderson and Rob Holding were handed their debuts in the Cup match but unfortunately for Henderson, injury forced him off early. The former United keeper played only 19 minutes before he was brought off. He is expected to miss out on Saturday. Odsonne Edouard was rested in the last match and will boost Palace in attack here. He has scored eight times this season with half his goals coming in the league.

Our Manchester United vs Crystal Palace Prediction
Palace will want to tighten up defensively after their midweek defeat. They haven't been scoring a lot and we expect the same here. United haven't managed more than a goal in five of eight matches and this could be a low scoring affair. We expect a closely-fought match. Our prediction for Manchester United v Crystal Palace is for under 2.5 goals to be scored.
