Manchester United vs Brighton Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in FA Cup Predictions
Midweek saw the end of Manchester United's hopes of winning the Champions League when losing 2-1 at home to Sevilla. That leaves the FA Cup as their only hope of winning a trophy this season and they host Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford. The shock loss to Sevilla was the first time a side not called Manchester City had beaten them at Old Trafford since January 23, 2016 and they will be keen not to see another loss here as they bid to reach the last four. Progress to the quarter finals has been rather routine for United with wins over Derby County, Yeovil Town and Huddersfield Town. They haven't lost a home FA Cup tie since 2015 and the five subsequent ties have produced four wins and a draw with just one goal conceded. Earlier in the season Manchester United beat Brighton 1-0 and they are unbeaten against the Seagulls in their last seven games including winning the 1993 FA Cup Final against them.
In 16 games between the two sides, Brighton have only ever won once and that was back in 1982 and they have never won at Old Trafford but did get a draw in 1983. Albion fans aren't exactly happy about this game being played on a Saturday evening but TV rules the roost. They are in decent form at present and are 11th in the table seven points clear of the bottom three so another season in the Premier League is looking likely. Away form isn't the reason they are in mid-table and they have just one win in their last 10 league and cup games and that was at Championship side Middlesbrough in the fifth round of this competition. Those ten games have seen them score just three goals. Scoring on their travels has been a problem all season with only seven scored in 15 Premier League games. United will be keen to get back in winning ways and can get the home win in this match.

Our Manchester United vs Brighton Prediction
Brighton and Hove Albion face a long trip up to Manchester on a Saturday evening and it'll be a big suprise if they can return home with a place in the FA Cup sem-finals. United have never lost at home to the south coast side who have poor away form and struggle for goals. Go for a United home win.
