Manchester United will have their first match of 2023 at home to Bournemouth in the Premier League, looking to extend the good run they’ve had in the recent matches. The two sides had contrasting outings ahead of this meet-up and the clash finds United in fourth place on 32 points while Bournemouth have 16 points, in 15th place. Manchester United had a laboured 1-0 win with Marcus Rashford coming off the bench to grab the winner. That was United’s this straight clean sheet as well and in the league they’ve also done well, scoring in each of their last three matches and posting four wins in the last five matches. Three of their last four league matches have produced over 2.5 goals.

Bournemouth’s recent run is a complete opposite of United’s; they are coming into this game winless in their last three matches and have also failed to score in those three matches. Their last two were in the league, coming right after their elimination from the League Cup at the hands of Newcastle United. Bournemouth suffered a second straight 2-0 loss in the last game, at the hands of Crystal Palace and they will be bothered that in the last two Premier League matches, they conceded twice in the opening half and went on to lose. In four of their last five league matches they have conceded two or more goals and three of their last five league games have produced over 2.5 goals.
