Manchester City return to league action only a point behind league leaders Liiverpool. Their chances of retaining their Premier League title improved as Tottenham lost at Burnley and Liverpool could only draw at Manchester United. City have won seven of their last eight league matches and won the last four at home by an aggregate score of 14-2. Sunday's Carabao Cup final ended in success for Pep Guardiola's team but they failed to score in 120 minutes. Only once in their last 36 home league games have they failed to score (incredibly that was against Huddersfield) and they play a team that they regularly score plenty of goals against. 24 scored in their last seven games against the Hammers.

West Ham beat Fulham on Friday and ended the weekend in ninth place. That victory ended a run of five league and cup games without a win and just four points behind seventh position, could yet get into the Europa League next season. Away form isn't too inspiring with four defeats and a draw in their last five matches, conceding at least twice in each game. Go for Manchester City to win this match and be leading at both half and full time.
