Manchester City welcomes Watford to the Etihad Stadium for this Premiership encounter. The home team are top of the table with 77 points while Watford are in 19th position with 22 points. Manchester City are just a point ahead of second placed Liverpool and will want nothing less than three points against relegation strugglers Watford. City briefly surrendered top spot to Liverpool but they returned to the top after a 3-0 win over Brighton. They have won two and drawn two of their last four league matches but will be full of confidence coming into this match. They have beaten Watford in their last 14 matches across all competitions. They are aiming to become the first English league side to win 15 consecutive competitive matches against any other league side. Manchester City have won 15 of their last 16 matches against teams in the relegation zone with the only blemish in that period, a 3-2 loss to Norwich in 2019.

Watford lost 2-1 at home to Brentford in their last match which was their third consecutive league loss and their fourth defeat in their last five matches. They seem certain to be playing in the Championship next season as they are seven points from safety and have played an extra game than the teams directly above them. They face a daunting challenge in this match as they have lost 14 in a row against City. Watford has however accrued double the number of points away from home as they have at home.
