Champions Manchester City takes on Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium in this Premiership encounter. The home team are sitting pretty at the top of the league while the visitors are in eighth position with 36 points. Manchester City are on a tremendous run of results and are unbeaten in their last 17 league matches since a 2-0 home loss against Crystal Palace. They are nine points clear of second placed Liverpool although they have played an extra match. They have won 14 of their last 15 league matches with just a single draw. They come into this match in great goal scoring form having won 5-0 against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League midweek match. Man City have only lost one of their last 12 home matches against Tottenham and that was back in 2016. They have however lost three of their last four matches against them but all those losses came away from home.

Tottenham have run into some woeful form at the wrong part of the season. They have lost their last three league matches after being nine matches unbeaten under manager Antonio Conte. They now in eighth position, seven points behind fourth placed Manchester United although they do have three games in hand over United. They lost their last away game to Chelsea and this was their first loss on the road in five matches. Following their 1-0 win over City in the first weekend of the season Tottenham are trying to complete the league double over them for the first time in top flight football since the 1986/87 season. Tottenham are trying to avoid four successive losses for the first time since 2004.
