Last season proved in the end to be a disappointing one for Manchester City. Most teams wouldn't mind a season where they reach the quarter finals of the Champions League, win the Capital One Cup and finish fourth in the Premier League, ask any Sunderland fan!  But for City it was a season where they should have done better in the Champions League and saw their Premier League title challenge fade and they nearly didn't get into the Champions League this season. With Pep Guardiola in charge and nearly £150m spent on new players, City will be looking to win the title this season. Last year they scored more home goals than any other Premier League side but lost five crucial games, something they can't afford to do this season. With John Stones the latest multi-million signing, they'll be desperate to give their new boss a big win. For Sunderland it's been pretty much the same story during the summer. They begin the season with a new manager and little activity in the transfer market.  Sunderland have a lot of work to do if they want to avoid another season battling the drop. David Moyes is a good appointment but he'll have to wait for his first win I think. City can win this on a -1 handicap.
