Manchester City vs Manchester United WFC Prediction & Betting Tips - Women's Super League

by Steve Ashfield | in Women's Super League Predictions

While the men's team have won the English Premier League for the past two seasons, their female counterparts have only been able to finish second. They look to break the domination of Arsenal in the Women's Super League having finished seven points behind them last season. That was despite losing just one of their 20 league games, an away loss to the league champions on the last day of the season. City did win two cups though so it was a good season overall. They have strengthened their squad for this new season. The most notable signing has been that of Ellen White, who scored six goals for England in this summer's Women's World Cup finals but she's not fit to start the season. Other signings include Aoife Mannion, Lee Geum-min (captain of South Korea) and Tyler Toland. There has been a big departure though with Nikita Parris going to Lyon.

Manchester United only formed their women's team last year. They did have a team until 2005 when the project was ended as it wasn't profitable. That's 21st century football for you. Back in business last year, they were the only full-time team in their league and won the Championship by nine points from Tottenham. It was a comprehensive title win with 98 goals scored in 20 games with just seven goals conceded. 18 out of 20 matches were won, the other two were against Durham who got four points off United despite finishing fourth in the table. Now United are in the Super League and life is going to get a lot tougher for them. Even more so as they will be without their captain from last year, Alex Greenwood. Some big signings have  been made topped by Dutch player Jackie Groenen. City are strong at home and can starr the season with a win, leading at both half and full time.
