Manchester City vs Liverpool Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League
by Steve Ashfield | in Champions League Predictions
A lot of praise has been given to Manchester City's defence this season but the last two games have seen them concede six goals. It's fair to say that the last week hasn't quite gone the way they wanted it. A 3-0 defeat in the first leg of this tie puts them in grave danger of failing to reach the semi-finals. That was followed by giving away a 2-0 home lead over Manchester United and the champagne has had to be put on ice for their Premier League title celebrations. Not since February 2016 have City lost three games in a row but this isn't a game in which everything is just about winning, it's the margin of victory that counts as they know three goals have to be scored in 90 minutes just to keep them alive. The big fear is that Liverpool get an away goal, if they do then City will need to score five goals in 90 minutes and extra-time won't be an option. City do have the ability to rescue this tie and five home games this season have produced a result that would see them in the last four. That includes a 5-0 home league beating of Liverpool in the early weeks of the season, though Liverpool were reduced to ten men. They need to be in their best attacking form and an early goal would be ideal, but the longer they have to chase the game, the more likely gaps will occur at the back and City have only kept two clean sheets in their last eight home matches.
Liverpool had the dream start in the first leg of this tie and it'd break their hearts if they now fail to reach the semi-finals. They made a number of changes for the weekend Merseyside derby and drew 0-0 at Everton. Another away clean sheet would be the ideal achievement for them on Tuesday and that once dodgy defence of theirs has managed five clean sheets in the last seven games. and four in their last six away matches. Liverpool will be hoping that Mo Salah will be fit for this game and they have scored in 17 of their last 19 away matches, just one should be able to get them through this tie. It's difficult to predict a win-lose-draw here but there should be a few goals so a bet over 2.5 being scored in the match should be a winner

Our Manchester City vs Liverpool Prediction
It's a dangerous task that Manchester City have in front of them in this game. They have suffered two defeats inside a few days and conceded six goals, three being at the Etihad. City have to be at their attacking best if they are to have any chance of making the semi-finals but they also struggle to keep clean sheets and can't afford Liverpool to get on the scoresheet. This could be a crazy game and the tip is to go for over 2.5 goals to be scored in the match.
All tips are fully researched and given in good faith, but profits cannot be guaranteed.
